Beautiful Feet

August 12, 2011 by Traci

I’m writing again for 5 minutes… without thinking, editing, etc…. here I go again!  Join me?  It’s not that scary.  Linking up over @ The Gypsy Mom.

This week’s prompt is BEAUTY…

Go

Beautiful Body

Writing about beauty seems kind of silly when you are 37 1/2 weeks pregnant.  Everyone else thinks you are beautiful, but all I can see right now is the end in sight {you know, when I’ll get my body back}.

Beautiful Gifts

After having 2 other children, I know that my body will never return to me… you know, the one before kids.  But I wouldn’t give it up for the world!

To hold that baby in my arms is the best gift I could receive after 9 months of carrying this precious, beautiful creation.

Beautiful Friends

Last night I went out with some girlfriends.  We stuffed our faces with authentic Mexican food… and no one judged our poor choice of portion size and bad manners.

Beautiful Fun

Then we went for pedicures… and we laughed and laughed and laughed until we almost peed our pants.  {okay, maybe I did just a bit, but I’m 9 months pregnant!}

One lady in the salon was talking on the phone and said that there were 4 drunk ladies getting pedicures.  Funny to think that when you see friends having a good time, they must be drunk.  We were drunk purely on laughs and enjoying our wonderful Christian sisters in the Lord.

Beautiful Feet

I love having shiny new pretty feet all ready for labor… but I also remember one thing… God’s Word and how it say my feet are beautiful if I spread His good news.

Do you have beautiful feet today?

Isaiah 52:7
7 How lovely on the mountains
Are the feet of him who brings good news,
Who announces peace
And brings good news of happiness,
Who announces salvation,
And says to Zion, “Your God reigns!”

I’m on my way to get a pedicure as soon as I get the kiddies dressed and dropped off at my mother-in-law’s! I remember going out with a friend when we were both about 30 weeks or so pregnant and something set us off into what seemed endless laughter in the restaurant. I had to get up and leave the table for a while!

    Love the good times!

    smoooches,

What a great and inspirational post! Leave it up to the world to think people are druink if they are having fun. It’s great that you have Christian friends to hang out with!
So happy for your little one on the way!

I love getting pedis! 🙂 So glad you had fun last night.

It is kind of sad that people having fun are assumed to be drunk. But honestly, maybe I have judged that way before…ouch…

a gentle breeze blows through fresh, new blooms.
Your time is fleeting, yet faithful,
a promise of beauty each spring.

Gifting petals that fall to the earth,
You are waiting for me to visit you.
Basking beneath warm shadows,
Deeply breathing in nature’s favorite perfume.

A legacy of faithful promise,
Graceful, elegant, familiar and kind.
As the sun streams through branches,
Your reflection twinkles and twirls,
Leaving your dance card upon my heart.

You whisper, come linger a little longer,
No need to be in such a rush.
Through storm clouds, torrential rain,
and those picture perfect days,
You continue your steady climb toward the heavens.

Your limbs grow stronger, your roots deeper still.
Your humble beauty speaks for itself.
No need to shout, nor beg for attention.
You hold the secrets of many who return year after year,
Who sit beneath your branches,
and find healing to bloom as well.
