Ahhhh…. I recently found a nature trail in our town, and it’s so remote. My ideal quiet time with my Love would be right smack dab in the middle of nowhere, in a clearing with huge trees and flowers surrounding me, by a stream. I would sit and listen to nature and just praise Him, then sing some songs myself. I would read the Bible out loud, and then just lay and stare up at the clouds and talk to Him. There would be some journaling and of course! Intimate, private, outside in nature…my ideal quiet time with God.
Great question, Traci! My actual quiet time is spent in my comfy chair with my Bible and a cup of coffee. And I have worship music playing in the background. My ideal quiet time would be spent somewhere secluded in nature, either along a stream or on the beach – just me and God. Sounds like heaven. 🙂
My actual ideal time with God is spent before Him in Eucharist Adoration in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel where, as a Catholic, I believe I am in His actual presence… can’t get more ideal than that!
However, I love to be anywhere I’m surrounded by nature.. I feel so close to God there. I love looking at mountains, feeling breezes, seeing His creation and feeling His presence all around. Some of my most profound moments with Him have been just sitting in the garden or staring out my bedroom window.
I love Mb Thielke’s answer.. I guess my ideal time would be very similar to that.
I would LOVE to have my quiet time sitting along on the beach watching the sunset. However I haven’t found a beach in Kansas yet. Still looking… 😉
Most generally my quiet time is when my husband leaves for work and the kids are still in bed. I sit at the dining table with my Bible and prayer journal. I pray and talk with God, then do my reading for the day. Then I turn on the praise music and sing praises to Him. This week I have been going out for a job each morning and I have used that as extra prayer time.
Sometimes I like to sit out on the deck instead of the dining table.
