Stay In Your Pajamas Today!

December 30, 2010 by Traci

Children can teach us a lot about life… like making time for play.  Remember when your days were like the breeze, with no responsibilities or worries?  Each day flowed into the next with warmth and excitement.
How can we (us serious adults, he hum) make time for some play?
1.  Make time for laughter- the kind that makes your belly hurt and your cheeks sore.
2.  Make time for hugs and kisses- the kind that lingers and makes your heart warm.

3.  Make time for silly games– the sillier the better.

4.  Make time for some make-believe– sit on the floor with your children and fly away to castles.

5.  Make time for a whole lot of nothing– it’s okay to do nothing… every once in awhile.

6.  Make time for some fun- do something you really enjoy today.

7.  Make time for chatting it up with some girlfriends– schedule a girl’s night out.

8.  Make time for staying in your pajamas– all day long!

9.  Make time for some dancing and singing- life is too short not to!

10.  Make time for enjoying the simple things- simplicity sets our soul free to be joyful about each blessing!
“Is the gratitude that flows out of your life as abounding as the grace that has flowed into your life?” – Nancy Leigh DeMoss
Colossians 3:16: Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.

What a great list. I even had time for #5 and #8 this week which I rarely get.

In fact, sitting down to dinner one night I proclaimed to hubby, “We did a whole bunch of nothin’ today.”

Recognizing things on this list as completed is maybe part of why I’m feeling quite “settled” heading into today despite the nasty sore throat and head cold I have.

Great reminders to not feel guilty and keep the list active in my life. Thank You!

I love it when you “slap me in the face”, sometimes I need that. Your inspiration is very appreciated by me. I am heading to my brother’s house tonight for play time (visiting, laughter, and board games). Yes, I am taking the time. Have a safe and happy New Year holiday.

A great list of reminders Traci–there really are so many things children intuitively know that we forget as we grow up. They can teach us so much!

What a great post! I’m a serious person by nature, I’m a thinker, and I love to over-analyze pretty much everything!!!!

But the lord have bless me with very creative, lets do and think after type of kids. They have stretch my “tings need to be done a certain way, you know the correct way” I’ve learn to let go of my little perfectionism nature to be free, free to love freely, free to dare try new ting, free to be silly, free to have fun.

I think that now at almost 32 I’m learning how to be a kids and play, it seams I’ve been a “grown up” all my life!!! Was I ever this free spirited as they are?

I’m learning to let go, I say learning, cause I still have the tendency to hold on to what is comfortable, what I KNOW etc!!!!

The Lord is teaching me trough our children that I need to let go for Him too, I need to surrender my all to be able to experience the freedom He as in store for me!

Slowly learning to let go and let God!!!!!

Learning is scary, but it needs to be done!

Sweet reminders for our busy and sometimes out-of-control lives. Homeschooling finds me in my jammies on most days… it’s bad when you get dressed right before your husband comes home :)Thank you!

Great Tips! Today I was busy, busy, busy de-junking and de-cluttering my house for the new year. Now it’s time to relax.

God’s rich blessings to you and your family esp. the new babe, Traci.

Blushing with your delicate, rosy hue, a gentle b Blushing with your delicate, rosy hue,
a gentle breeze blows through fresh, new blooms.
Your time is fleeting, yet faithful,
a promise of beauty each spring.

Gifting petals that fall to the earth,
You are waiting for me to visit you.
Basking beneath warm shadows,
Deeply breathing in nature’s favorite perfume.

A legacy of faithful promise,
Graceful, elegant, familiar and kind.
As the sun streams through branches,
Your reflection twinkles and twirls,
Leaving your dance card upon my heart.

You whisper, come linger a little longer,
No need to be in such a rush.
Through storm clouds, torrential rain,
and those picture perfect days,
You continue your steady climb toward the heavens.

Your limbs grow stronger, your roots deeper still.
Your humble beauty speaks for itself.
No need to shout, nor beg for attention.
You hold the secrets of many who return year after year,
Who sit beneath your branches,
and find healing to bloom as well.
