Chilly Toes

November 12, 2009 by Traci

My toes are chilly; but I refuse to put on socks. I suffer from,

“I – live – in – the – frigid – north – but – am – a – flip – flop – lovin’ – southern – girl – at – heart.”

Anyone else suffering too?

I love this, cuz I love my flops too! BUT, I also love boots and being able to wear them so I guess I sorta alternate between the two. I grew up in the north and remember wearing socks with the flops (fashion fau paux, I know) but since I don’t live in super cold weather anymore, I feel like I get the best of both worlds. You go on and wear your flops!!!

(do you like toe socks? then u can wear them with the flops around the house or something) hehehe

I can’t wear flip flops because I can’t STAND the feeling of that little widget between my toes. Drives me NUTS! I can only wear sandals because of that.

I also wear socks around the house to keep my feet warm … I get REALLY cold toes if I don’t, even though we have a lot of (stained) carpet throughout. 🙂

Thanks for stopping by my blog!

Ok so I completely relate!!! I live in my flip flops! BUT I’m now a northern girl living in a southern world! I can wear them almost all year long…sorry, that sounds a bit like I’m rubbing it in : )

Yep. I’m a flip flopper. I hate when the snow gets here and I can’t wear them any longer.

It’s hysterical, but I am truly 100% a country girl living moments away from the Big Apple….(Manhattan to be exact). Everyone walks around with their designer clothes and purses and shoes. And here’s little ol me sporting my flip flops in November. I get the oddest looks sometimes, but I don’t care. You can take the girl out of the country, but can’t take the country out of the girl.

I love flip flops! I retired them, but the warm days have been back this month in PA, so I had to dig them out of my closet!

Tracy, my daughter’s answer is toe socks. Year ’round. She stocks up in the fall and at Christmas, and when the weather is chilly, it’s toe socks and flip flops.

Blushing with your delicate, rosy hue, a gentle b Blushing with your delicate, rosy hue,
a gentle breeze blows through fresh, new blooms.
Your time is fleeting, yet faithful,
a promise of beauty each spring.

Gifting petals that fall to the earth,
You are waiting for me to visit you.
Basking beneath warm shadows,
Deeply breathing in nature’s favorite perfume.

A legacy of faithful promise,
Graceful, elegant, familiar and kind.
As the sun streams through branches,
Your reflection twinkles and twirls,
Leaving your dance card upon my heart.

You whisper, come linger a little longer,
No need to be in such a rush.
Through storm clouds, torrential rain,
and those picture perfect days,
You continue your steady climb toward the heavens.

Your limbs grow stronger, your roots deeper still.
Your humble beauty speaks for itself.
No need to shout, nor beg for attention.
You hold the secrets of many who return year after year,
Who sit beneath your branches,
and find healing to bloom as well.
