I Received A Transfusion This Weekend

October 26, 2015 by Traci

RGT stage

I received a transfusion this weekend.

It was a beautiful and miraculous gift.

It wasn’t performed intravenously.  There were no sharp needles, fancy hospital gowns, or bags of blood hanging on metal carts.

Instead, it was done across the room, among a sea of other beautiful Mamas.  Words of life were spoken, hope was shot in my heart, and a new and amazing energy to my motherhood and home were transfused into my weary heart.

You don’t know you are spiritual anemic until you receive the strength you once were lacking.

So thank you for your words to me.  They spoke life and infused me with the energy I didn’t know I was so desperately needing.

Raising Generations Today.  It’s not just a conference.  It’s so much more.  It has equipped me to come back into my home with a refreshed spirit, a revived and patient heart, and an awakened perspective.

I learned how to be proactive when it comes to controlling my anger:

We are parented by a God that knows we need rest.

We model the gospel when we get down on our knees and apologize to our kids.

Your kids are an assignment from heaven.
~ Lisa Jo Baker
I was reminded that motherhood is a marathon, not a sprint.  Thank you my sweet Stacey!

Sometimes the bravest thing you can do is to worship.
God wants us to feel hungry for Him, so We can see His power to feed us.  He is our soul food. Meet with Him daily.

Romans 15:4 –

To what extent are you stirring up your hope in God’s Word?
In Clare Smith’s session, I learned how to find my own sweet spot in becoming a Healthy Mama.  She reminded me of a few simple, yet profound things… oh, and that her mic pack gave her a booty!

Don’t begin running someone else’s race, stay in your lane.
Different seasons of life provide different circumstances and adjustments to be made.
We are at our healthiest weight when we are walking close with Him and being a good steward with the body He has given us.
Ellie Holcomb spoke life into us with her words and the balm of her gift of music!

Kate Battistelli spoke about dreams …

Sometimes our dreams aren’t God’s dreams for us.  Will you let Jesus pick?  Will you trust that He knows best and His destiny for us us perfect?
The beautiful connections I was able to make with women who came to our Tommy Nelson table were downright divine appointments.  I didn’t just sell and give away books to these Mamas, but I got to hug, shed tears with them, and pray for them!  What a gift.

A movement of women who believe they were born to go into all the world and change it through the power and love of Jesus Christ living inside of them.  “Never doubt that a community of thoughtful, committed women, filled with the power and love of God, using gifts they have identified and developed, and pursuing passions planted in them by God―never doubt that these women can change the world.”―Lynne Hybels

As the conference closed in a beautiful ballet, one like I’ve never seen, showing the seasons of motherhood,

a couple friends and I linked arms in the back of that ballroom and shed tears of joy together.  Praying and tears and sweat and the work put into this conference, all coming to a close in one beautiful moment.  Goodness, there are no words.  So thankful for a friend capturing this moment on her phone.

Thank you Raising Generations today… you are much more than a conference.  You are the vision and proclamation of what we are suppose to be doing.  Linking arms with the generations behind us and before us… we are stronger together, for His glory.
Thank you to the donors of my transfusion of love this weekend.  To the speakers, to the ladies who smiled in bathroom lines, to the singers of worship, to the laborers who carried pallets of wood, decorated ballrooms, and made sure everything was going smoothly, and to the ones who listened to this vision and ministry and said YES, I will go… September and Dan McCarthy.  Thank you for being my donor… I’ve received a wonderful transfusion this weekend, because you bravely, sacrificially said YES, I will obey.

May I be the donor for someone else now.  May my words gift life…. may my smile give someone a shot in their arm of grace and hope that they so desperately did not know they needed.
