Beauty | Week 2

April 22, 2011 by Traci

Last week was our first week of Inner and Outer Beauty @ Ordinary Inspirations.  Want a button?  Grab the code at the bottom of my sidebar!

Come back every Friday for a new way to make you inner and outer beauty SHINE!

Rebekah took the simple challenge of painting her nails.  She also went so far as to get her hair done.  She looks marvelous doesn’t she?!

Here’s what Rebekah had to say about the first challenge:

Thinking about your post from last Friday, how difficult really is it for us to paint our nails or do a little something extra that we know our husband will appreciate?

One of my husband’s favorite “beauty” things for me to do is have painted finger nails – and even though he never says anything when I don’t do it (which is too often) I know that it makes him a little extra happy whenever I do (I’m attempting to increase the frequency! lol) And, here’s a shocker, it makes me feel better too! Imagine that! Just a simple act of painting your finger nails can make you feel beautiful.

I mentioned in the comments section on Friday that I struggle too with feeling beautiful. I do believe that half of actually being beautiful for our husbands has to do with feeling beautiful. So often, my husband tells me I am, only to have me retort back, “Am not!” – sounds funny, but, for me anyways, it is the truth. Thank you again for challenging all of us with this!

Inner Beauty Tip | Week 2
Don’t be a gossip

Zip up your mouth. A GOSSIP is very unbecoming. She is also known to be crude and cruel. Have your conversation honest among men and God! You will make yourself more beautiful for it!  Seek to be a peace maker (Psalm 133:1 “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!”)

Outer Beauty Tip | Week 2
Laugh, smile, hugs & kisses.

There is a cute, older lady at our church, that hugs and kisses EVERYONE she sees. She just puts a smile on my face every time I see her. She leaves a lipstick stain on my cheek, but I don’t care. She sure knows how to put a smile on my face and warm my heart! She even said that receiving a kiss raises your hemoglobin levels! Who knew.

BUT, when I say hugs and kisses… let’s just focus on our family, shall we? After all, the ones closest to us are sometimes the hardest to love. Laughing and smiling raises your endorphins too!

Having a happy (contented) heart and outlook makes us truly beautiful!  Read about how our husbands don’t need a skinny wife over here.
