8 Ways To Turn Your Can’ts Into Cans

April 28, 2014 by Traci

Have you ever wanted something SO BAD,
but just can’t seem to make it happen?

Has all the striving left your feeling defeated?
Does failure define you when grace should refine you?

Start turning your can’ts into cans!

1. Instead of saying: I’m such a failure!
say this —–> I’m made to overcome this.
*2 Corinthians 10:3-5 “3 For though we walk in the flesh, we are not waging war according to the flesh. 4 For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. 5 We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ,”

2. Instead of saying: I’ll never be as beautiful as her.
say this —–> I’ve been made perfectly beautiful be a perfect God.
*2 Corinthians 3:18 “And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another.  For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.

3. Instead of saying: I’m not good at anything.
say this —–> God knit me in my mother’s womb for a specific purpose.
*Psalm 139:13-14 “3 For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb.  I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.  Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.

4. Instead of saying: I feel like I never measure up.
say this —–> God loves me just the way I am.
*Romans 5:8 “But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

5. Instead of saying: It’s too late for me to change.
say this —–> It’s a lie that it’s too late.  It’s never too late.
*Proverbs 14:23 “In all toil there is profit, but mere talk tends only to poverty.

6. Instead of saying: My life would be easier if I had ________.
say this —–> God wants me to be obedient and flourish right where I am NOW.
*Philippians 4:11 “Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content.

7. Instead of saying: I don’t matter.
say this —–> I matter.  God has a beautiful purpose for my life.
*Jeremiah 29:11-13 “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.  12 Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you.  13 You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.

8. Instead of saying: I can’t get out of this pit of negative thinking.
say this —–> I must renew my thoughts by reading God’s Word.
*Romans 12:2 “and be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

*Psalm 40:1-3 “I waited patiently for the LORD; He inclined to me and heard my cry.  He drew me up from the pit of destruction, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure.  He put a NEW song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God.  Many will see and fear, and put their trust in the LORD.
