On How Our Womb Never Really Closes

May 21, 2014 by Traci

I was pondering this morning, as I was brewing my cup of Dunkin Donuts Hazelnut cup of gold (I liken it to gold because it makes my mornings so darn amazing), on how our womb never really closes.

This post about living with the ache hit the nail on the head.  Once we become Mother, we are changed forever.  Each one of has a different labor and delivery story, but there is something so beautiful about each story; the pain, the glory, the magic.

When it’s time for each woman to decide her time is done having babies, the longing still remains.  There is a deep aching and longing that will always be there to some degree.

As I was texting my sweet mommy friend this morning, who is due to deliver her fifth blessing, it hit me.

Our womb never really closes.  As each woman in our life gets ready to birth a child, we birth with her.  We ache, and stretch, and contract right along with her.  We rejoice and we scream for joy and we become mother right along with her, over and over.

It is the gift that keeps on giving.  Motherhood is something amazing and spectacular and reaches with hands wide and long and embraces the new mommies and the veteran mommies.

Moms are the ones on the front lines of RAISING GENERATIONS TODAY.

When you speak life into a mom and not judgement, you bless her.

When you whisper words of leaving perfectionism at the foot of the cross and creating memories with her children, you give her hope.

When you put your arm around her and tell her she’s not the only one who ever yelled at her kids, you free her from guilt.

When you rejoice with a mommy ready to give birth, and cry tears of joy when her blessing is born, you remind her that children are a blessing from the Lord and the fruit of the womb is His reward.

When you invite moms into your home, and speak God’s Word into their hearts, you are enlarging the vision and strengthening the cause of Christ.

When we give a new mom the gift of a nap, we hand her the world!

When you cup that woman’s face in your shaking hands and tell her she can push just one more time, you are pushing with her, and keeping motherhood alive and vibrant and beautiful.
