There is a lie out there, sweet daughter. The lie that men can make you feel validated and secure. It’s really not your fault you believe it. I play all those Disney movies for you, and you believe that having a Prince makes you a Princess. Having THE PRINCE OF PEACE is what makes you a princess. You are loved more abundantly by your Heavenly Father and you are complete in Him alone.
When you enter the years of the awkward TWEENS, and you see girls flocking to boys and chasing and texting and calling, may you stay strong and be confident in Christ. May you be so loved by your precious Daddy that you do not look to boys to make you feel special and loved. May you seek to be pursued only when courtship and marriage is within a healthy reach.
When you do meet that special man, the one who works hard with his hands, who is compassionate and slow to anger and quick to forgive, may he make you feel special because he treats you as a precious jewel… and shows you by respecting you enough to know that your body is not his until marriage.
When you do get married one day, sweet daughter, may you find fulfillment in your relationship with your husband. You must know, it takes a lot of work. It takes daily dying to yourself and your own will. But can I tell you the benefits of doing so? Oh, you will fall more and more and more in love with that man God gave you with each year that passes as you are obedient and work at your relationship. It will be a fairy tale ending not because you will always have butterflies handed to you, but because you have worked at keeping those butterflies present in your marriage! The butterflies of the stomach turn into something deeper with each passing year… they become stronger and turn to butterflies of the heart and soul.
And finally, as a word of caution in your marriage, may you realize that there ain’t no magic in mike! There will be movies and books and all kinds of garbage out there that may appeal to your flesh, but they will only harm your marriage. Be satisfied by your man alone. Not in a movie, or a book, or an image that will only end up harming your marriage. Woman may say that these things can help your marriage, but 9 times out of 10 they end up harming your marriage in the end. Be creative. Do things to spice up your marriage bed that don’t involve what people are calling mommy porn. There’s a movie out right now with male strippers that women are flocking to. Really? Did you want your man going out flashing their dollar bills at women that are not clothed? Then don’t do it yourself… There ain’t no MAGIC IN MIKE…
Hebrews 13:4 ~ “Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterous.”
