Before and After Kitchen Remodel

When my husband and I decided to downsize our housing situation, many began questioning why.  We had just moved into our previous house just four years ago, and most people were questioning why we would move again so soon.  We felt a bit overwhelmed by all of the questions and concerns.

Although we couldn’t give all the answers that others were looking for, we did feel confident in our decision.  This was not a decision that came by impulsively.  It came after much prayer individually and together as a couple.  God confirmed our decision was right multiple times.

When God moves in your home, and gives you the peace and confirmation to move forward, you MOVE!  Even if others don’t understand.  Even if it means you literally, not just figuratively, move to a different house.

We sold our former home very quickly and we prayerfully began searching for a new home.  It was and is still, a seller’s market.  Homes were getting multiple bids and getting over asking price.  We were walking through uncertain waters.  We continued to follow God’s leading even when it was really difficult.

We had a few specifics in mind that we were praying for:

  • a smaller mortgage (less expensive house and monthly payment)
  • three bedroom house
  • to stay in our current school distract

God answered all of these requests! The perfect home (for us) came on the market that was priced right.  A bonus (because God loves each of us special and loves to bless us in creative ways) was that the kitchen needed remodeled!  The previous owner left that to us!  We were able to use some of the equity from the sale of our previous home to fix up the kitchen with our taste.  It was so fun planning it all out!  Here are some of the before and after pictures along with what we picked out as far as hardware, cupboards, appliances, counter top and more!
