she whispers, thank you…

January 4, 2010 by Traci

Swaying in the cool breeze; she bends, and bows in graceful beauty. Basking in the glorious warmth the inviting rays give. Breaths of peaceful serenity spill forth. She glows and a heart smiles with abundance of blessing.

all is well; she whispers, thank you.

The wind picks up and the clouds roll in. Her cheeks are pelted hard with the harsh drops , that sting the cheek. Shivers become involuntary until she is frozen into place. For what seems like days, months, even years.

all is well; she whispers, thank you.

The wind seems to push a little harder, giving an extra shove, in her direction. Really? I cannot handle much more, my Lord. She digs down deep, roots branching far beneath, what can be seen with the eye.

all is well; she whispers, thank you.

Flowers bloom, and a sea of beautiful colors rise to the surface. She melts. Shaking off the moisture, a chill runs down her spine and hope rises up. An end is in sight.

all is well; she whispers, thank you.

She toils the ground, finding new, bolder strength from the bread of life. She raises the hoe, to the tough dirt and gives it a drink. It breaks up and releases an abundance of luscious greenery. She once again, sways in the cool breeze; she bends, and bows in gracefulness. She will bask in the glorious warmth the rays give. Even though, she knows far too well, that storms will come her way, one day. She is confident in her never-changing Father. He will make her stronger for it, as she continues to seek His Face, first.

all is well; she SHOUTS, thank you.

I’m continuing to be grateful, no matter what good, or seemingly “bad” times, may come my way. For my hope is built on nothing less, than Jesus’ blood and rightness. He is my Rock. Fortress. Hiding place. I choose to say thank you…

The grateful heart that springs forth in joy is not acquired in a moment; it is the fruit of a thousand choices. Nancy Leigh DeMoss

Continuing to count my gifts… 155-172

:: silly hats on a little boy

:: rocking a sick baby, cheek to cheek (and longing for sleep)

:: a toddler’s rants and raves (and choosing to teach, in the moment)

:: watching my husband teach his daughter how to play the Wii (and appreciating his patience)

:: not knowing what this year may hold for our family (but trusting in my Abba Father, for His best)

:: struggles, that bring me to my knees (back to where I am reminded to pitch me tent)

:: thankful for family, to have around during special times

:: watching new ‘wonder’ in my children’s eyes, as they unwrap beautiful surprises.

:: being able to teach my daughter, about the real meaning of Christmas (and watching her confused look as others ask her what Santa brought her this year)

:: family movie nights (and the cozy warmth it brings to a parent’s heart)

:: special artwork that children bring home from church (and seeing ‘understanding’ from His Word, unfold in her eyes)

:: learning from the past year and pressing on with hope in a new one.

:: celebrating 5 years of marriage, with my best friend

:: and the fact that we still ADORE one another, even more!

:: staring at the flowers he sent me and never outgrowing the specialness of a thoughtful act

:: watching grandparents, unwrap a scrapbook that speaks volumes (60 years of marital bliss)

:: hugs around the neck, from a soon – to – be 1 year old boy (even if they turn to face scratching and hair pulling, every time!)

:: a three year old little girl (not looking so little anymore)

holy experience

Blushing with your delicate, rosy hue, a gentle b Blushing with your delicate, rosy hue,
a gentle breeze blows through fresh, new blooms.
Your time is fleeting, yet faithful,
a promise of beauty each spring.

Gifting petals that fall to the earth,
You are waiting for me to visit you.
Basking beneath warm shadows,
Deeply breathing in nature’s favorite perfume.

A legacy of faithful promise,
Graceful, elegant, familiar and kind.
As the sun streams through branches,
Your reflection twinkles and twirls,
Leaving your dance card upon my heart.

You whisper, come linger a little longer,
No need to be in such a rush.
Through storm clouds, torrential rain,
and those picture perfect days,
You continue your steady climb toward the heavens.

Your limbs grow stronger, your roots deeper still.
Your humble beauty speaks for itself.
No need to shout, nor beg for attention.
You hold the secrets of many who return year after year,
Who sit beneath your branches,
and find healing to bloom as well.
