Reshaping It All Review And Giveaway!

March 28, 2011 by Traci

This giveaway is now closed.  Jennifer from Joy Ever After is the winner.  Please email me with your name and mailing address (curly2880atyahoodotcom).

Reshaping It All: Motivation for Physical and Spiritual Fitness, by Candice Cameron Bure with Darline Schacht is by far one of my new favorite reads!  It is more than that, it was life-changing for me.  It is a practical book that I will pick up over and over!  You can purchase a copy here on amazon.

Have a chance to WIN YOUR OWN COPY
at the end of my review!

I don’t know if you are like me, but I get super board with long book reviews.  I will try to make this short and sweet…  here’s my TOP 10 REASONS I loved this book (in no particular order).
MY TOP 10 REASONS I LOVED THIS BOOK!
1)  I love reading about how we can keep our bodies trim and fit for God’s glory.  I am passionate about women’s health.
2) I love how this book talks about reshaping our spiritual life and our physical bodies.  I believe that there is a connection (and should be) as christian women!
3) Such an easy read!  It normally takes me forever to read a book.  I read this one in less than 3 days.  Couldn’t put it down and couldn’t wait to pick it back up!
4) I grew up watching Candice on Full House.  I love seeing what a beautiful woman of God she has grown up to be!  She is truly beautiful inside and out.
5) At the end of each chapter you will find a section called “The Pantry: Chocked-Full of Food For Thought”.  The pantry is organized for readers on the go, who want to flip open the book and grab something to chew on.  It has 6 quick parts:
a) The Main Ingredient (A quick re-cap)
b) A Slice of Advice (Candice answers fan mail)
c) A Pinch of Practicality (practical application)
d) Food for Thought (verses used in the chapter)
e) The Candy Dish (A special quote)
f) From My Stove to Yours (AWESOME HEALTHY RECIPES)
6) Candice is honest about her past struggles with an eating disorder and her spiritual walk.  Very candid and someone you are sure to relate to in many ways.
7) She has a bunch of pictures in the middle!  I’m such a visual person that I loved this section.
8) It is much more than a biography, but a truly motivating tool that will be able to put you back on the right track toward a better physical and spiritual fitness regimen that really lasts!
9) She offers a biblical perspective on appetite and self-control that really encouraged me.  I love to eat… but Candice really speaks direct about our sin of gluttony and why we overeat.
10) Candice says, “Diets usually fail for one or all of these three reasons:
a) No pain No Gain.  We choose to sprint instead of training for the long run.
b) We’re Spoiled.  We try to change only the food that we eat instead of changing our mind-set.
c) Lack of Conviction.  We don’t truly believe that the benefits are worth the effort it takes to get us there.”
Which one are you?  Are you looking for a practical, inspiring, life-changing book that will be sure to get your spiritual and physical back on track?  Have you been struggling for years, only to be left more depressed and discouraged.  Pick of this book!

I’ve recently seen several things about this book. I’d like to read it because I am finally taking the first steps to a healthier life. I am deciding it is time to start eating better and making exercise more of a priority. I take care of everyone else more than I take care of myself. I think this book would be a good motivational tool.

Blushing with your delicate, rosy hue, a gentle b Blushing with your delicate, rosy hue,
a gentle breeze blows through fresh, new blooms.
Your time is fleeting, yet faithful,
a promise of beauty each spring.

Gifting petals that fall to the earth,
You are waiting for me to visit you.
Basking beneath warm shadows,
Deeply breathing in nature’s favorite perfume.

A legacy of faithful promise,
Graceful, elegant, familiar and kind.
As the sun streams through branches,
Your reflection twinkles and twirls,
Leaving your dance card upon my heart.

You whisper, come linger a little longer,
No need to be in such a rush.
Through storm clouds, torrential rain,
and those picture perfect days,
You continue your steady climb toward the heavens.

Your limbs grow stronger, your roots deeper still.
Your humble beauty speaks for itself.
No need to shout, nor beg for attention.
You hold the secrets of many who return year after year,
Who sit beneath your branches,
and find healing to bloom as well.
