Who takes out the trash in YOUR family?

October 14, 2010 by Traci

Congrats HEIDI for winning the $10 Walmart Gift Card!

I know it’s normally a “man’s job” but I love to take the trash out!  I love clearing out the clutter and junk from my house!

Often times it is super stinky!  After trying these trash bags, it eliminated the odor!  I even made hard boiled eggs and put the left over shells and such in the garbage and NO NASTY EGG SMELL!
So this is a fun little game… just answer the question in the comment box:

“Who takes the trash out in your family?” and you could win a $10 Walmart Gift Card!  Open for today only!  I will draw a winner tonight at 10 PM.

Get yourself some HEFTY TRASH BAG coupons here!

Oh girl! My older two boys take out the trash….as far as the garage. BUT Momma here takes it to the dump!!! Can we say one of the grossest jobs I’ve ever had?!

OH…and don’t let it not get taken to the dump for several days! Let’s just say that I have to wear gloves. :p

My dearly beloved hublet takes out the garbage…unless he is swamped with some other kind of work or occasionally forgets, then I, the “Help Mate” do it! : ) We enjoy working together and picking up each other’s slack when needed. But, he’s the main “Garbage-Taker-Outer.” : )

Well at my house I take the trash out. My kids are getting older and will so be able to take over this treasured job!!

Our oldest kids (7&9) take the trash down to the garage, then my husband usually takes it down to the road. I say usually because he sometimes forgets, then makes the frantic call to me to hurry and take the trash down :).

We BOTH do! We’re a team! I help gather it up, and he puts it into the dumpster on the way out of our development. :o)

Unfortunately, it is usually me that takes the trash out. But, I try to thank God in everything, so i keep in mind that I am blessed to have trash to take out in the first place. We are so blessed to have everything we have. With that comes trash. So, thank God for the trash I have to take out!!!

Hi. I found your blog through Amber at Amber’s Articles.
My husband usually takes out the garbage when he is home. However, he is in the Navy, so during the three years he was attached to a submarine, he was gone about 2 years and I did it during that time.
Now we have an 8 month old son. I wonder when he’ll be able to help? 🙂

My sweet hubby takes it from the kitchen – after I gather it from around the house – and he always puts the dumpster out by the road. And I ALWAYS appreciate that he does too. I’m glad to know these bags can make a difference. It’s a YUCK job!

I usually take out the garbage, since I notice it Waaaaaay before Brian ever does. I really like those bags! I’ve been buying the kind with a scent, but I’ll check out the odor free next.

My husband and I share the load. It just depends on who is there when the trash bag is full. However, he is the one who takes it out to the curb for trash day.

My hubby takes the trash out most of the time. If it starts to get a little full, and he’s not home I gladly do it. We only have one trash rule – absolutely no smelly diapers in the house can…..

    October 14, 2010 at 11:40 am

Mostly I do, because my hubby’s at work all day, and I don’t wait until he comes home, I just take it out myself. If he’s home, he often will. I don’t mind taking it out though – I enjoy getting junk out!

My husband!! I can’t stand doing that job. But he’s like you, he likes clearing out the clutter. He just always forgets to set it by the curb on trash day!

It was always my husband until he injured his back. Now it’s me and I appreciate him so much more for doing it (now that I know how stinky it is)! 🙂

It’s a two person/relay type of chore. I’ll take it out of the indoor can, tie it and toss it in the garage. When Wonderful Husband comes home, he takes it to the outdoor can. Now that I wrote that out, I feel kind of silly! lol

Every month we rotate the chores, so the garbage job goes to a different child each month. When they weren’t old enough though it was mine! 🙂

My husband or my Dad usually takes it out!! And I really appreciate it!

You have no idea how much I wish my husband took out the trash. I am thankful for all he does, but every Wednesday night I am wondering why he also doesn’t take the trash to the can, and the can to the curb.

It’s me who does it. Every. Stinkin. Wednesday.

And brings the can back to the house every Thursday.

    Not that I’m bitter. Really.

But the gift card might help…:)

a gentle breeze blows through fresh, new blooms.
Your time is fleeting, yet faithful,
a promise of beauty each spring.

Gifting petals that fall to the earth,
You are waiting for me to visit you.
Basking beneath warm shadows,
Deeply breathing in nature’s favorite perfume.

A legacy of faithful promise,
Graceful, elegant, familiar and kind.
As the sun streams through branches,
Your reflection twinkles and twirls,
Leaving your dance card upon my heart.

You whisper, come linger a little longer,
No need to be in such a rush.
Through storm clouds, torrential rain,
and those picture perfect days,
You continue your steady climb toward the heavens.

Your limbs grow stronger, your roots deeper still.
Your humble beauty speaks for itself.
No need to shout, nor beg for attention.
You hold the secrets of many who return year after year,
Who sit beneath your branches,
and find healing to bloom as well.
