I Received Hope In The Mail Today

September 14, 2010 by Traci

There is something very nostalgic about getting real snail mail, in that simple mailbox at the end of your driveway (not to be confused with the inbox at the end of your keyboard strokes).  I remember some lonely days away at college, and getting a care package in the mail, simply made my day and covered me with smiles!
I got this piece of loveliness in the mail just yesterday.  It filled me with such HOPE!

Emily Dickinson said, “Hope is the thing with feathers that perches in the soul.”
Ahhhhhhhhh!  Doesn’t that just make you smile and give you an extra bounce in your heart’s-step?

My sweet friend, Lisa Leonard, has transferred this timeless quote (in her own hand writing) upon a sterling silver pendant!
I love how it is sweetened with a cream, fresh water pearl!

I adore every square inch of the word HOPE!  Without hope, where would we be?  Do you know someone in need of some HOPE?

You might enjoy slipping on over and visiting Lisa…

I just know one of these meaningful necklaces would fill the sails of her soul… that friend, sister, mom, daughter… in need of some encouragement today!

p.s. how are your sister-in-law and baby Gabriel?

I love to get some snail mail too. However, I don’t like receiving bills; lol.

I love Lisa Leonard’s designs. I was on her site this morning and noticed the hope necklace too. I also added a few items to my wish list.

That is a beautiful necklace, Traci. And you look just beautiful in that picture 🙂 Hope is a powerful thing…it’s hard to hold on to when the world is so full of greed and negativity.

Beautiful necklace and I really love that particular quote! I think just wearing that would brighten anyone’s day! It’s lovely!
Just have to say that I couldn’t agree more about snail mail…I have actually been really trying to avoid just sending little (dare I say pointless?) messages on facebook and such but instead, just writing out a small card and popping it in the mail to encourage someone! It is so fun because I remember too when the mail box used to be full of goodies and they do make a person’s day!:)
This is a lovely and encouraging blog you have here!

Blushing with your delicate, rosy hue, a gentle b Blushing with your delicate, rosy hue,
a gentle breeze blows through fresh, new blooms.
Your time is fleeting, yet faithful,
a promise of beauty each spring.

Gifting petals that fall to the earth,
You are waiting for me to visit you.
Basking beneath warm shadows,
Deeply breathing in nature’s favorite perfume.

A legacy of faithful promise,
Graceful, elegant, familiar and kind.
As the sun streams through branches,
Your reflection twinkles and twirls,
Leaving your dance card upon my heart.

You whisper, come linger a little longer,
No need to be in such a rush.
Through storm clouds, torrential rain,
and those picture perfect days,
You continue your steady climb toward the heavens.

Your limbs grow stronger, your roots deeper still.
Your humble beauty speaks for itself.
No need to shout, nor beg for attention.
You hold the secrets of many who return year after year,
Who sit beneath your branches,
and find healing to bloom as well.
