Go Apple Picking & Recipes To Prepare You!

September 28, 2010 by Traci

Apple picking is one of my very favorite autumn adventures!  Sadly, we won’t be going for another couple of weeks.

I thought I’d be a step ahead of the game this year, and found some yummy recipes to prepare for and share with you.

Here are some that looked good to me:

 “Just Like Mom’s Apple Crisp”
I actually do not like… are you ready for it… apple pie!  I know, what kind of American am I?  But Apple Crisp… now your talking my language!  This recipe looked great because it had graham crackers in it!
Honey Mustard Pork With Apple Stuffing

I love the combination of Pork and apples!  Sounds scrumptious!
Hot Apple Pie Dip!
Doesn’t that sound great!  I’ve never heard of an apple pie dip before.
Apple Streusel Coffee Cake
Delicious Nutty Apple Snack
Grilled Apple, Cheddar, & Bacon Sandwiches
Spiced Apple-Butternut Squash Soup
Chocolate-Dipped Apples

I hope you found some yummy recipes that caught your eye!  Which one looked the best?  Have you gone apple picking yet?  Linking up over at Beauty and Bedlam.

Traci! I don’t like apple pie either! My daughter loves it and when she asks me to make one I think, yuck! But it’s good for the calories because I am not tempted.

Oh dear! Fresh apples are so delicious I can’t see the point of coating them eith nuts, peanut butter, chocolate etc.

That’s where American taste buds and mine go different ways. But I’m with you on apple crisp rather than pastry. Yummm!

Wow, the chocolate covered apples look delish! We will probably go apple picking in a couple of weeks. Pork chops and apples are really good too. And of course applesauce. Thinking of making some with potato pancakes tonight.

Great post! Thanks for the ideas/recipes. I don’t know if you saw it, but I went apple picking with my students on Friday and I needed something new to make with my apples! Blessings!

Fun! ALL those recipes look awesome. I have some printing to do. The pork with apple stuffing, and butternut soup will be first on my list to try. And like you, I’ll take apple crisp over pie anyday!

My husband has actually made a delicious Apple & Butternut Squash soup (recipe from Pampered Chef) and it was SOOOOOOOO YUMMY!!! We may need to do that again soon now that you remind me of it!!

We just went to an orchard last weekend so your timing with this post was perfect! I think the coffee cake, apple dip and pork with apple stuffing look delish! I have made an apple tart in the past, but no pie for me either!

MMMM love the pork chop and apple stuffing recipe. YUM… I already picked 10 pounds of Gala’s and since they are almost gone, time to hit the orchard for whatever is currently ripe. :o)

Blushing with your delicate, rosy hue, a gentle b Blushing with your delicate, rosy hue,
a gentle breeze blows through fresh, new blooms.
Your time is fleeting, yet faithful,
a promise of beauty each spring.

Gifting petals that fall to the earth,
You are waiting for me to visit you.
Basking beneath warm shadows,
Deeply breathing in nature’s favorite perfume.

A legacy of faithful promise,
Graceful, elegant, familiar and kind.
As the sun streams through branches,
Your reflection twinkles and twirls,
Leaving your dance card upon my heart.

You whisper, come linger a little longer,
No need to be in such a rush.
Through storm clouds, torrential rain,
and those picture perfect days,
You continue your steady climb toward the heavens.

Your limbs grow stronger, your roots deeper still.
Your humble beauty speaks for itself.
No need to shout, nor beg for attention.
You hold the secrets of many who return year after year,
Who sit beneath your branches,
and find healing to bloom as well.
