So what in the world do I eat? Food. Real food.
Eggs.
Tons of veggies.
Fruits.
Nuts.
Peanut butter. Oh how I love thee peanut butter.
Chicken.
Fish.
Burgers.
I also incorporated a dietary supplement of Fish Oil and Caltrate (Calcium, Magnesium, and Vitamin D).
Bing badda boom! That’s it! I also don’t eat after 8PM and I try and eat every few hours (6 small meals/snacks a day).
I know what you are thinking. I could never do that! Trust me you can! If I can do it, so can you! I have the biggest sweet tooth around and I’ve been known to down a bag of chips or cookies in one sitting. So how have I done it?
Eating this way on a consistent basis will cut your cravings. It levels out your blood sugar and your body is satisfied with eating this way. There are many times I’m not even hungry and have to remind myself to eat something. Caaaaaaarazy!
Try it? The first 3 days is the hardest, but once you get past that you will see a HUGE difference! Try it for 30 days.
This part of the Whole 30 Program has helped me stay on track:
“It is not hard. Don’t you dare tell us this is hard. Quitting heroin is hard. Beating cancer is hard. Drinking your coffee black. Is. Not. Hard. You won’t get any coddling, and you won’t get any sympathy for your “struggles”. YOU HAVE NO EXCUSE not to complete the program as written. It’s only thirty days, and it’s for the most important health cause on earth – the only physical body you will ever have in this lifetime.

I am encouraged by your experiences!! Thanks for posting this! My husband and I (and our kids, too, because hubby and I are 🙂 ) have really been trying to eat better and “cleaner” recently, doing a pretty good job, but we’ve slipped up now and then. We’ve gotten rid of most processed and junk foods. I haven’t had a soda in 9 weeks, which is a HUGE thing for me! The sweets still make a big call to me, though! I find I don’t feel so good after I’ve given in to a sweet temptation, so if I can just quit that I’ll be doing better!
Anyway, I’m rambling! 🙂 Thanks for sharing your experience and best of luck on your continued journey!

Sandy… yes, soda is a biggie to get rid of! Try ridding the refined carbs and sugar for at least 3 full days and you will see huge results in your craving levels!
Thanks for commenting!

Wow!! I’m so so excited for you, and challenged at the same time. Do you use any particular brand of fish oil & caltrate? Is it liquid form? Sorry for all the questions, I just am really challenged and curious! 🙂
Traci Michele says
Hey Rebekah!
Just in your local store’s vitamin section. I take tablet forms of both. The Caltrate is calcium, magnesium and vit d. No, just any fish oil is good for you.

Sounds great Traci! You have done awesome. My biggest struggle is chocolate and peanut butter ice cream and pepsi. I’d be a size two if it wasn’t for those things!! Lol. I have cut back on how much I ice cream and pepsi I eat/drink, but I still struggle with it. I will try to stick to your tips!

I know this would be hard but it may be what I do when back from vacation. Problem is I have problems with low blood sugar and not sure if the carbs in the fruit and veggies would be enough. Also, on the website, it mentions no peanuts or peanut butter but you are eating it so must still be ok. :o)
Traci Michele says
Kim- Yes, I still have peanut butter and hummus (which is chic peas) and they both aren’t allowed but I allow myself those two things and it doesn’t affect anything 🙂

Jenifer… I know… those are tough!!! If you are content where you are at then go for it! lol

Good for you! I am so excited for you! I’ve been trying to control my portions for the past week and eat healthier in general – more smoothies for breakfast and salads for lunch. I haven’t weighed in, but you are inspiring! Good job! 🙂

I am starting this tomorrow. I have 15 pounds of baby weight and 20 pounds of “blissfully happy” weight. I always gain when life is good 🙂 goal is to lose the first 15 by July 15. This gives me hope that I can do it!!!
