The attitude we choose to wear as “Mama” is the most important accessory to any outfit!
As a woman, I love nice clothes, shoes, jewelry and a great purse… but no beautiful accessory is as important as this one… OUR ATTITUDE.
Our attitude sets the tone of our home. We’ve heard it countless times. Do you believe it?
Many days {most days} I wake up with a poor attitude. Even after showering, getting decked from head to toe, and having that great shade of picture-perfect-pink-lip gloss- if I’m not wearing a smile (that starts on the inside and connects to my mouth) it is all in vain.
My children need to see me modeling a thankful, happy heart. I tell my daughter every day before she leaves for school, “don’t forget to show God’s love.”
As a Mama, nothing can show my kids more about God’s love, than a woman who is content and happy, because she has met with Jesus.
This is the key… meeting with Jesus. There is a sweet fellowship that comes from abiding in Him, and our children will see it… and they will see an ugly Mama if we don’t.
5 WAYS YOU CAN MODEL GOD’S LOVE AS MAMA
1) Open you Bible EVERY day… even if it is only for 5 minutes. Write down and mediate on a verse or passage throughout the day. Ask your children to join you in memorizing His precious Word.
2) Sing praise-songs with your kids. We can’t help but have a happy heart if we are praising His name.
3) Ask your children who they can pray for. Pray diligently with them and praise God for answers to prayer.
4) Have your conversation seasoned with grace. Be careful how you talk as Mama. Your words reflect your heart, and your children will model your behavior. Do you complain a lot? Ask the Lord to give you a praise-worthy tongue.
5) Smile at your children and look them in the eyes. Your children need to know that they come first during the day. Are you enjoying them or pushing them aside? They will pick up on the difference.

such an incredibly timely post…i have a quote up in my kitchen that i see a million times a day that i got from “holy experience”…”only speak words that make souls stronger”. it’s been a life saver for me…not for my own life, but for the three precious ones entrusted to me.
smiling and giving strength through our words is a gift that no money can compete with.
you have such a beautiful heart, traci – such a joy to come over here.
