The local church, the family unit, and the Bible are under attack by Christians and non-Christians alike.
Do you believe that these 3 things are worth standing up for?
If so, what are your thoughts? I know that God is a big God and He is in control…
On another note… I am choosing not to be polluted by all of the negative “press” against them.
What I believe:
1) The local church (although flawed) is very important to me. (Matthew 18:15-20), (Hebrews 10:24-25)
2) The family unit (how God intended it to be- marriage between man and woman) is worth fighting for. (Genesis 2:24)
3) The Bible is 100% inspired by God and without error. My God is sufficient to preserve it throughout the generations. (Isaiah 30:8) , (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

Traci, interesting you posted this today. I have a post coming up on the subject..we have to speak out for the TRUTH! PEOPLE make up church.. we are not infallible nor are we perfect. We follow Jesus Christ.. not pastors, priests or church leaders. I am not about to give up my faith because leaders fall.
As for the rest, TRUTH must prevail. I guess all we can do is stand up for our beliefs and pray for a world that is totally LOSING all sight of morality, right and wrong. The lines are becoming too blurred. Sorry I’m so long-winded.. I’m kind of passionate on this subject. Guess I’ll let you read my post for the rest 😉

This has been on my mind a lot as we are just coming through the other side of an issue (as pastor and wife) in which we were challenged and ridiculed for standing on the Word of God. It dealt with both church AND marriage!
Praise God, though for changed hearts and restored relationships!
Only His Word and Spirit can convict and change the hearts of men and women!

Amen!

Amen, Amen, and Amen!!

I agree!! i think standing strong and showing people what a strong family unit looks like (despite the challenges is the best testimony!! If we don’t consistently fight for it. Then it is easier for others to discredit church and call us Bible beating hypocrites.

I agree completely! Woo Hoo for local churches, family’s who love God and His Word!

I definitely agree! As an Independent Fundamental Baptist I’ve really been saddened by the resent bad press basically grouping all IFB churches because of the shameless mistakes of a few.. Great post! I like your blog very much! Voted for you on Circle of Moms. Thank you for the support, also!

Absolutely!

Great post. These ARE worth standing for. God used a local church to transform my life and I am eternally grateful. It’s sad to see people especially in the church try to water down the gospel to fit into the world’s standards. Thanks for sharing this.

I couldn’t agree more! In fact, my 4th graders (Sunday School) and I had a conversation this morning about how the Bible had NO mistakes and you had to read it ALL, you can’t pick and choose individual verses to go by.
We are in desperate times, and all Christians should be on our knees in prayer for our country, leaders, and government officials.
