How do you fit your bible into your life?
Stop.
Right away.
From the daily struggle of trying to fit your Bible into your life.
You heard me.
Stop.
What?
Really?
But…?
Yes… stop.
I speak out loud… to myself… in my heart… and I get it. Yes! That’s it!
Traci – Stop trying to fit your Bible into your life… but live in a way that the Bible becomes your life. Your very breath. Your next thought. Your next touch.
See me in the smiles and in the tears.
Touch me in the times when ordinary becomes extrodinary.
Taste and see that I am good, He says in spilled forth, red lettered WORD.
Hear the Living in a baby’s coo and a mother’s cry to you at 3 am. “I don’t know how to be a Mommy, dear Lord! Help me!”
Smell me as your true worship, on bended knee during the mundane is lifted up like a sweet aroma.
You see… we need to stop trying to fit the bible into our life… and make it our life!
Oh Taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that puts his trust in me. Psalm 34:8
But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear. 1 Peter 3:15
Thanks for visiting!

Yes! This is an awesome post, God is dealing with me not to male my time with Him an after thought or a token but to make it the air I breathe &’the food I breathe- to change from the token to the necessary, the vital.
Here He is again whispering into my ear through. This post,
thank you for blessing me with this message today,
Biggest hugs

Hi!! I popped over here after seeing that you had dropped by my place…and I am so blessed that I did because your post brought tears to my eyes. I am on a similar journey…one that learns that I don’t have to inject God into my day, but rather that I need to inject myself into His. 🙂
Beautiful post…can’t wait to get to know more about ya!!

Wonderful to meet you through (in)courage…and I’m blessed by this…The times I have been consistently and daily in the Word have been the most rewarding in my spiritual walk…truly a time of listening to all He had to say…I am slowing getting back into the groove of daily time in the Word and how refreshing it has been. It’s a discipline that never disappoints!

My daughter had some of the same thoughts today as she posted on her blog the following quote. I share it here and the link to her site.
http://amylunde.blogspot.com/
“The whole purpose of the Bible, it seems to me, is to convince people to set the written word down in order to become living words in the world for God’s sake. For me, this willing conversion of ink back to blood is the full substance of faith.”
– Barbara Brown Taylor, from her book, Leaving Church
It is a great quote and like your post today, gives us a lot to think about. Too often we park our Bible on the coffee table and don’t even think of them until we pick them up for church on Sunday. May the words that we read, meditate on, study and memorize permeate our lives in such a way that we become His hands and feet in a hurting world to show love as He has loved us first.
Thank you, Traci, for these thought provoking words today.

This is something I try to model for my children. I could sit down with them each day and read from the Bible…but I’m trying to teach them the truths in a real world setting so that it becomes a part of their life instead of just something they’ve memorized. Lovely post!
