It is amazing the wide array of questions that come up, conversing with a three year old. Some I will answer in great detail, and other, shall we say, more “uncomfortable topics” about body parts and such, I quickly change the subject!
Every moment is an opportunity to teach and train. As Riley and I were sitting on the couch the other day, she was looking at a boo boo she had on her knee. She was inquiring about it being rough, and I went into details about platelets, the clotting process, and coagulation and…. NO, I totally did NOT do that!
I did explain, however, that God makes our bodies very special and it takes time for our cuts to heal. “That is why the scab forms over your boo boo, so it can get all better. It protects it. Isn’t that cool?”
At that moment, I looked down at my left hand, where two purplish/reddish scars reside. “See Riley, we should never pick our boo boos, because you will end up with a scar, like Mommy’s.” In all her 3 year old youthful wisdom, she replied, “Mommy, you really shouldn’t pick your boo boo’s.”
When God is doing a healing work in me, many times I want to rip off the scab that is forming. I know that I shouldn’t, but I get impatient. God’s timing in the healing processes of life, is perfect! Everything HE does is PERFECT. I do not need to speed anything up.
What is God healing you from? Are you tempted to rip off God’s layer of protection too early? Be patient in the waiting… if not, you might just get an ugly scar instead of a fresh layer of beautiful, NEW skin!

Our soul waiteth for the LORD:
Our soul waiteth for the LORD:
He is our HELP and our SHIELD.
Galatians 6:9
And let us not be weary in well doing:
for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
