Life has got me weary. Burden upon burden, I am feeling pressed into the ground. Kind of like I’m the bug, being squished by a large converse shoe.
I know God is in control. I know. My body is achy . . . my soul is craving.
I have a hope. I know that my foundation is in something/someone bigger than me.
And so when I can’t catch up with my thoughts, and I don’t know which way to turn… I continue to rest in Him.
What do you do when you can’t seem to shake the soul-ache? The overwhelming sadness?
I…
1) Meditate on scripture (especially the Psalms)
2) Ask close friends to pray for me
3) Cry it out, pray, and seek seek seek the Lord
Psalm 42:5, 7-11
Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance.
Deep calleth unto deep at the noise of thy waterspouts: all thy waves and thy billows are gone over me.
Yet the LORD will command his lovingkindness in the day time, and in the night his song shall be with me, and my prayer unto the God of my life.
I will say unto God my rock, Why hast thou forgotten me? why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?
As with a sword in my bones, mine enemies reproach me; while they say daily unto me, Where is thy God?
Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.
