Autumn. I smell hope. New change. Starting over. Oh how I mean well, to start over each day. Lord, teach me to see each new day, as an opportunity to obey you at every moment, at each new breath.
I love the opportunity for new growth. God loves it. He wants us to be continually changing for the good. Sanctification is beautiful. Becoming more like Him. Oh to be more like my Savior, and less like me!
As Summer sets sail from its destined harbor, I see Autumn rushing to the shore with bright colors. A HAVEN OF HOPE. It evokes old and new memories alike.
I make time to drink in the vibrancy of it all. As I wrap a sweater around now chilly shoulders, I immerse myself in the awakening of the senses.
Wood burning stoves, apple pie, children’s laughter in the breeze, a pile of leaf-full-smiles!
Making time to savor each moment takes work. It takes work to stop the daily to-do-lists and look around.
Learn to lavish your attention upon the details of your little luxuries. Innocent luxuries do not come with a price tag. They are the simple joys of today. Notice. Acknowledge. Embrace.
What does Autumn mean to you? Are there new opportunities on the horizon? Opportunities to take that leap forward, instead of all your little steps backward? Opportunities for healing and forgiveness perhaps? Filter out the noise of the past, and open the gift of today.
Be illuminated by His Presence, for this will banish the darkness, and diffuse the ugly lies of that roaring lion that is ever seeking to destroy your JOY!
What’s around the corner for you?
Is it a heaping pile of fruit falling to the ground? I can hear the imminent thud thud thud of the fruit He wants to spill forth from your life. I do!
For me, Autumn breathes HOPE! I can taste it, smell it, touch it, feel it, see it!
It’s on the horizon.
Thanks for visiting!

Gorgeous pictures and thoughts! I’m finally able to start liking autumn. For years I would get depressed this time of year, an old habit since childhood. God is so good!

Beautiful post..I love your thoughts on autumn and your pictures. It’s my favorite season. To me it’s sweaters, the excitement and anticipation of upcoming holidays, my favorite colors taking over the leaves, my favorite warm and spicy candles are taken out of the closet and lit, stew simmering on the stove, homemade bread in the oven, apple, pumpkin and pecan pies, trips to the local orchard for apples and pumpkins and caramel apples.. it’s a certain fire in my soul that burns this time of year. A time to soak in God’s love and goodness. Thank you..I feel as though I’ve just left the spa 🙂
