Being an “on-the-go” type of person, I never imagined I would LOVE being home with my kids so much. I thought I would feel strapped down, without purpose, . . . you know the feeling?
But the thing is, I am most at home, being home with my kids. I’m fulfilling that God-given desire, to be Mommy.
Being a Mommy is more important than my grandiose dreams of becoming somebody. It is behind closed doors, where the Lord gently reminds me, I notice, my child.
So when you are weary,
your days seems to drag on,
when all you do is read that book for the hundredth time,
break up spats,
give baths,
scrape off cheerios from the table and floor,
desperately long for some adult interaction,
never feel like you are getting caught up on house work. . .
Those little eyes are watching you! What you say. How you react. What makes you smile. When you choose to play games with them, over texting that friend, or checking your inbox.
When you choose to sit and be with them,
really listen,
smile big,
hug long. . .
They will remember… it will make a difference. . . they will see Jesus! Isn’t that our #1 desire as a Mommy? That our children would see Jesus!
What a better way to show Jesus, than letting Him live through us, each day, before our family!
Go back and look at some of your pictures today. Remember special memories created. Cherish the role you were destined to fulfill.
