You want to know the secret to living and breathing God’s Word? Plaster your home with scripture. For real!
Today I put a bunch of verses having to do with healthy eating/guarding against gluttony, all over my kitchen. On my cupboards, fridge, etc.
I also put verses that I’m trying to commit to memory on every floor (in the bathroom, on my bedroom mirror, in the living room and family room.
It’s so amazing! I had such a fruitful, peaceful, satisfying day!
And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall
be as frontlets between thine eyes.
Matthew Henry’s Commentary Notes:
Here are means for maintaining and keeping up religion in our hearts and houses.
1. Meditation. God’s words must be laid up in our hearts, that our thoughts may be daily employed about them.
2. The education of children. Often repeat these things to them. Be careful and exact in teaching thy children. Teach these truths to all who are any way under thy care. Diligently teach them!
3. Pious discourse. Thou shalt talk of these things with due reverence and seriousness, for the benefit not only of thy children, but of thy servants, thy friends and companions. Take all occasions to discourse with those about thee, not of matters of doubtful disputation, but of the plain truths and laws of God, and the things that belong to our peace.
4. Frequent reading of the word. God appointed them to write sentences of the law upon their walls, and in scrolls of parchment to be worn about their wrists. This seems to have been binding in the letter of it to the Jews, as it is to us in the intent of it; which is, that we should by all means make the word of God familiar to us; that we may have it ready to use upon all occasions, (1 Peter 3:15) to restrain us from sin, and direct us in duty.
So dear sisters in Christ, if we are to live and breath and shine Jesus every singe day, we need to be bathing ourselves in His Holy and Precious Word! Then, and only then, will it not be a duty to speak of His name, but it will seep from our very pores!

I have been wanting to post verses all over my house for a long time. Do you have any creative/pretty ideas to do it? I thought about painting a picture and putting the verse on it. I would love for them to be a focal point all year.

What great ideas! I have a hard time finding time to study. This way you at least get some scripture wherever you go! I love it!

You are absolutely right! What I started doing well over a year ago: Bought cheep $2 4×6 black picture frames. Pulled up Microsoft Publisher and designed my own scripture cards; complete with a cool background picture and creative fonts. I print them on the 4×6 photo paper (which we get an abundance of when we buy ink cartridges) and put them in the frames.
I have one on my kitchen window sill, 1/2 bath down stairs and a few other places.
I may be expanding these prints to 8×10 (or whatever that size is. LOL).
I’d be happy to share them…if I can just figure out how!!

Have you ever seen this site: http://www.wisedecor.com? We picked out a family verse and put it up in the living room. We put a verse about hospitality over our front door. And a verse about raising kids over our twins’ bed.
