Christy over at Superheroes and Princesses is hosting a Top 5 Friday. Today, we are suppose to share the top 5 things, on our “wish list” as Moms.
During our first years of marriage, my husband and I talked about just getting “household gifts” for one another at Christmas time. You know, like new carpet or a much-needed appliance. I must admit, I put the kabosh on that; at least in my mind. Come on, I thought, that’s no fun! Where’s the romance, people?
But then kids come along; and this “treaty” seems a lot more inviting. Even if it is only for the sake of spending less money. Now that we are child #2, I’m all for this.
Something changes when you become “Mommy”. We learn the art of becoming less selfish, (or really try to) and truly desire our children to celebrate in all the joys and fun that the Holidays bring; time spent creating special memories, and reliving our childhood, through their eyes.
But, that doesn’t mean I don’t have a “wish list” in the back of my mind. Like Christy, I enjoy the luxury of being pampered now and again; because, let’s be honest ladies, the only pampering we get is jumping in and out of the shower as fast as we can, throwing on our makeup in a flurry, and quickly brushing a “cover-up” coat of polish on our toes.
1. A day at the spa: A pedicure, a massage, maybe even a facial? Ahhhhhh…. I’ve only had 2 pedicures in my life, and it was glorious!
2. A Wii Fit! I love the thought of having fun, while getting a good workout!
3. A Swiffer Wet Jet. I’ve heard so many good things about this product. (Do you have one?)
4. A dish washer. End of story. You understand why this would be on my wish list, right? I never get to “Make My Sink Shine” because there are always dishes in the way.
5. A gift certificate to take a cake decorating class! I love making cakes and would especially enjoy getting some great tips and advice from a professional.
What do you think of my list? Would any of these things be on your wish list?
If you would like to share a top five list of your own, please link up over at Christy’s blog: Superheroes and Princesses. Your list should include any of the 5 things you enjoy right now. This was SO MUCH FUN! A girl can dream, right?

That is a fun list!
I do have a Swiffer Wet Jet and do not know what I would do without it! The Kiddos sure know how to make a mess…best thing? They KIDDOS can run it and do a great job!
Happy Weekend!

Oh no, you poor thing…no dishwasher? That is one luxury I would not want to live without. 🙂 Hope you get that spa day! That would be so fun.

Great list. I love everything you wrote. It’s so true how things change once we gain the “Mommy” title.
Funny thing…I just bought the Swiffer Wet Jet. I haven’t used it yet. I just assembled it this morning and I still have to put batteries in it.
I hope you get some of your wish items!
Thanks for linking!

Swiffers are awesome and the kids DO love to help use it! You are brave with no dishwasher. I would eat on paper without one!

1.The Spa Day sounds divine!! 2. A day to actually go shopping with a girlfriend, Goodwill, the Outlets, etc. 3. The HAAN Steam cleaner! No chemicals to buy ever, it runs on water…so safe and sanitary as well. I have a swiffer but the chemical smell is strong and you have to keep buying stuff for it. 4. Some new frying pans…I am down to one!! 5. Anything to organize the house with! I am an organizing fanatic in my head, but on my budget it doesn’t always happen.

A cake decorating class would be so fun. I always make my kiddos b-day cakes and they look very homemade. I know the kids don’t care they know it is the thought that counts. I actually used fondant for the first time this yr and it came out so so. I blogged about it but for some reason I can’t paste the link. It was in June.

Great list! I have a swiffer and I really like it for a quick job, but I don’t feel like it works very good on the grout lines of the tile. I went for several years without a dishwasher…ugh! I want you to get one of those for sure.

Hi Traci. I gifted you with the same award as Pure Perseverance! I suppose you can’t put it on twice but just wanted to know I appreciated you and have linked you for more visits from friends!
